Larry Pretlow II, along with his friends and family, embarked on this project with a focus on real emotional and psychological progress (LaPret World Studios, 2020).

About LIFE as Larry: Producers' Reflections & Clarifications

"LIFE As Larry" is a captivating and deeply personal web show that stands out for its honesty and relatability. Larry Pretlow II’s journey is portrayed with sincerity, drawing viewers into his world of challenges, growth, and resilience. Whether you're interested in personal development, the intricacies of public life, or simply a compelling story, "LIFE As Larry" offers something for everyone. The show is a testament to the power of vulnerability and the importance of support from friends and family in overcoming life's obstacles. Larry pioneered the Reflective Reality Therapy show format, a groundbreaking approach that we were the first to introduce.

The tagline holds true: Everything is personal - even this life.

How the Show Was Filmed

The filming process of "LIFE As Larry" sets it apart from typical web reality shows. Larry and the cast would engage in hours of genuine, unfiltered conversations, delving deeply into their issues, experiences, feelings, and healing processes. These extensive discussions often took place over 2-3 days, allowing for authentic exploration and resolution of each topic.

For each episode, an hour-long conversation between Larry and the featured cast member was recorded after they had truly resolved and healed from their issues. This ensured that the discussions captured on film were reflective and insightful, highlighting their personal growth.

These hour-long conversations were then meticulously edited down to concise episodes of no more than 15 minutes. This editing process ensured that the most poignant and impactful moments were highlighted, delivering a powerful and engaging narrative in a short format.

It's important to note that the hours-long conversations remained private and, in some cases, were not cleared by other cast members for airing. This respect for privacy and consent further underscores the unique and respectful approach of "LIFE As Larry," offering viewers a deeply personal and authentic experience while maintaining the integrity and privacy of the participants.

Was it Real?

During Season 1, viewers often questioned the authenticity of "LIFE As Larry" due to Larry Pretlow II's ongoing political campaign in 2020. Some rumors suggested that the show was more about defending his public image than about genuine personal growth. Skeptics argued that the series might be a strategic move to garner sympathy and support during a critical time in his political career.

However, it's important to note that Larry was also undergoing professional therapy at the time. This context adds a layer of credibility to his journey documented in the show. The extensive and private conversations with the cast, which often spanned 2-3 days and were not always cleared for airing, indicate a commitment to real and profound healing. These private discussions were key to the process, showing that the resolution and growth portrayed on the show were not fabricated but stemmed from genuine efforts to address and overcome personal issues.

Ultimately, "LIFE As Larry" aimed to provide an honest and raw portrayal of Larry's life, capturing his struggles and growth authentically. While viewers may have their doubts, the show's unique filming process and Larry's concurrent professional therapy prove a sincere commitment to personal development and transparency.

Unpaid Participation for Genuine Healing

Our cast members were not paid for their involvement in the series. Instead, they joined Larry out of a mutual desire to address and overcome personal challenges together. Larry believed that this collaborative healing process was the true benefit for everyone involved. By engaging in open and honest conversations, the cast members supported each other in meaningful ways, fostering an environment of trust and mutual growth.

A Shared Journey

This approach sets "LIFE As Larry" apart from other reality shows, highlighting the authenticity of the interactions and the sincerity of the cast's commitment to personal development. The shared journey of healing was not just a storyline but a real and impactful process for Larry and his friends and family.

Genuine Connections and Growth

Our focus on unpaid participation underscores the genuine connections between the cast members and the authenticity of their shared experiences. This commitment to real growth and healing is a cornerstone of our series, making "LIFE As Larry" a unique and heartfelt portrayal of personal and collective transformation.

By prioritizing genuine healing over financial incentives, "LIFE As Larry" provides an honest and profound look into the lives of its participants, capturing their true struggles and triumphs. This authenticity resonates deeply with viewers, making our series a standout in the realm of reality television.

Why Some Cast Members Didn't Appear

Viewers expected a full reunion of the final three-member lineup of the original four-member roster of Profound Intent. Devy B, a member of Profound Intent, completed hours of conversations for the show with Larry and Mizz Redz but chose not to participate in the filming of an episode for his own personal reasons, which we will not disclose. It’s important for viewers to know that the reunion did occur over the course of two days, but it didn’t yield an episode. We are committed to respecting everyone's privacy, regardless of whether they cleared footage for air or not.

Clarification on Filming Process

To ensure authenticity and respect for participants' privacy, the show used a two-step filming process. First, Larry and the cast engaged in hours-long, unfiltered conversations to explore and resolve their issues genuinely. These private discussions were essential for true healing but were not always intended for public airing. After these resolutions, a separate hour-long conversation was recorded, reflecting on their personal growth. These reflective conversations were then edited into the final 15-minute episodes, capturing the essence of their journey authentically.
